Namibia’s commitment to improving foundational literacy is reaffirmed through the Project Charter launched in November 2024. This charter serves as a strategic guide for implementing the recommendations from the National Conference on Education, hosted by the Ministry of Education, Arts and culture in 2022.
Further underscoring this commitment, the Ministry is proud to announce the launch of the End Learning Poverty for All in Africa (ELPAF) initiative, under the theme: “Eradicating Learning Poverty — a National Priority.”
The launch will be preceded by a symposium, providing a platform for educators, scholars, researchers, and policymakers to share best practices and research aligned with this critical theme.

SYMPOSIUM AIM

This symposium aims to address the challenges and explore innovative solutions to ensure no child is left behind, and alternatively, initiatives which will enable Namibia to contribute to the AU Agenda 2063 by focusing on foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
